This project featured a large scale digital print and video work on display at ‘A Garden Futuricity’ commissioned by the Broadway Gallery (a public gallery) in Letchworth Garden City and was curated by Kris Day.
The main image is site specific and is intended as a futuristic representation of a view of Letchworth ravaged by climate change and war, viewed through a hole formed in the wall of the gallery. The premise of the video is that of the viewer tracking forward and back in a broken time machine that goes between the present and this future world.
To accompany the show, I developed an interactive online component - ‘A Garden Futuricity Portal’ - which could be accessed via a QR code at the exhibition which originally showed supplementary information to the exhibition but was later modified (to allow for Covid-19 restrictions) to incorporate the whole exhibition when the gallery had to close which included a second short film and background information:
